Doctor of Clinical Practice (Research) (DClinPrac(Res))

Studies in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

This programme replaces the Doctor of Clinical Practice (DClinPrac) for new applicants after September 2020. Please contact for more information.

This is a programme for qualified Psychoanalytical Psychotherapists in at least the third year of training, interested in developing the ability to evaluate critically analytic practice and theory. Central to the programme are critical reflective practice and the utilisation of various research methodologies.

The programme will draw upon participants' existing clinical learning and experience and complement this with training in research methods and practice, relevant to psychotherapeutic practice. It aims to help clinicians develop their own clinical work, contribute to the building of an evidence base for psychodynamic practice and influence the development of psychoanalytically informed services.
