PGCert Clinical Leadership and Transformational Service Change

There are five CYP IAPT learning Collaboratives nationally made up of Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and Training Providers working with local partnerships of health and local authority commissioners and providers from the statutory and third sector. These local partnerships, which in some areas are called CAMHS Partnerships, were already working together to provide targeted and specialist (Tier 2 and 3) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

The five collaboratives and their associated HEIs are:

  • London and the South East (HEI: University College London and Kings College London)
  • Oxford /Reading (HEI: Reading University)
  • North West (HEI: Greater Manchester West Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Training Centre)
  • North East, Yorkshire and Humber (HEI: Northumbria University)
  • South West (HEI: Exeter University)

Applications to the CYP IAPT National Team of new partners (services) must be made by the CAMHS Partnership of commissioners and providers working in a discrete and defined borough based local area. The programme is particularly keen to encourage participation by the voluntary sector in the training and service development within partnerships. Local area partnerships which seek to join the existing collaboratives must include as a minimum the health commissioner, the local authority commissioner and the NHS CAMHS provider. Those partners that are shortlisted will then be offered and interview with the learning collaborative.

If partners are successful in being able to join a collaborative, they will then be asked to submit application forms for individual staff members that they wish to be entered in to the training programmes (based on the number of training places the National Team have offered them). A shortlisting and interview process with then determine which staff meet the national criteria to commence the training programmes at the University. It is currently not possible for individuals to apply to the CYP IAPT training course if they are not working in one of the selected services.
